『A3BC PV』

日本の新宿にあるIRREGULAR RHYTHM ASYLUM（IRA）というinfoshopで毎週木曜日に木版画を一緒に彫るワークショップが行われています。それがAnti-War, Anti-Nuclear and Arts of Block-print Collective、略してA3BC（反戦・反核・版画コレクティブ）。10月に仙台アンデパンダンでの出展を終え、11月に丸木美術館で行われる今日の反核反戦展2014に向けて作品を制作中です。

＜本編紹介文＞

2011年に起こった東日本大震災。放射能被害を避けるために多くの人が移住を決断し、生活をガラリと変えていった。その中の一人、モリテツヤさんは、鳥取に移り住み、自給のための農業と、情報交換の場やカウンターカルチャーを紹介するインフォショップ（※1）を始めようとしている。就職せず、安い賃料で借りた自分の店舗をDo It Yourself（DIY）で修理していくが、水道工事の費用を捻出するため、バイトに明け暮れ、改修工事がなかなか進まない。お金も時間もない中で、ゲストハウスの人々や街の人々の助けを借りて、果たして本屋は完成するのか。DIYドキュメンタリー第一章。

The Great Eastern Japan Earthquake occurred in 2011. Many people decided to emigrate in order to avoid radiation sickness and had to completely change their lives. Tesuya Mori was one of them. He moved to Tottori prefecture and was about to start farming for self-sufficiency as well as an info-shop (*1) for exchanging information and introducing counter-culture. Not wanting a full time job, he rents a garage for cheap with the plan of opening his own bookstore. The garage is run-down and he repairs it in a DIY (Do It Yourself) way. Yet, in order to subsidize the cost of installing a sewer system, he has to work part-time, so the repairs don’t proceed as swiftly as he’d like. Without enough money or time, yet with the help from people in the guesthouse and from around town, will he really be able to make his own bookstore? This is the first chapter of this DIY documentary.

〈Yorimichi caravan project〉 is a "screening caravan” that visits alternative spaces in Asian countries with the documentary film ‘ BOOK STORE - part1’.

Searching for the of “mobility of today”

In the past, ‘Caravan’ is used to refer to the world of merchants that connect different areas. The “Caravan” makes a cross-cultural communication and fusion even more so than to accomplish its purpose of "sending goods ". Today, with the internet, LCC and the development of transportation, the exchanging of unknown and known interactions has been born and has created communities on the existing a platform.

However, the act of actually moving from city to city in itself, can we find out the experience and information that is involved without getting caught in our own antenna? Its questions like these regarding the possibility of moving and expanding of the present that is the aim of cross-connecting with the caravan.

Making a platform of “Alternative in Asia”

〈Yorimichi Caravan project〉 is aiming to be a reference point of trade from place to place, as well as making a platform to expand the expression of works. This platform is meant to surpass the single community of “Japan” and create a place for artists through the screening tour in the Asian countries.

〈寄り道キャラバンプロジェクト〉とは、ドキュメンタリー映画「BOOK STORE —移住編」を携えてアジア諸国のオルタナティブスペースを訪れる上映キャラバンです。

Searching for the of “mobility of today”

キャラバン（caravan）とは、その昔、異なる地域同士を繋ぐ、「隊商」を意味する言葉として用いられました。実際の移動を伴うキャラバンは、「商品を郵送する」という目的を果たす以上に、横断的な文化交流・融合が行われていたそうです。

インターネット、LCCなど移動手段が発達した今日、既に用意されたプラットフォームのなかでコミュニティが創造され、未知と既知のやり取りが生まれています。しかし、実際に町から町へと移動する、という行為自体に、みずからのアンテナに引っかからず、他者へ伝えるべき情報や経験を見出すことはできないでしょうか。移動の可能性と拡張が問われる現在、キャラバンを通じ、横断的に「つながる」ことを目指していきます。

Making a platform of “Alternative in Asia”

昨今、都市・地方に限らずにさまざまな「オルタナティブスペース」が生まれています。古本屋・居酒屋、カフェなど、アートに留まらない複合的なその場所は、多様なコミュニティを築いています。この寄り道キャラバンプロジェクトは、アジア各国のオルタナティブスペースを訪れるとともに、その記録を制作し、公開していきます。アジア各地に点在するコミュニティをつなげることが、このプロジェクトのもう一つの目的です。

この〈寄り道キャラバンプロジェクト〉は、アジア諸国で行う映像作品の上映ツアーを通じて、表現者たちが「日本」という枠組みや単一のコミュニティを超えるプラットフォームを構築し、表現活動の拡大と地域同士の交易の参照例となることを目指しています。
